Organized in 1993, Travis County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) is a first responder organization based in Austin, Texas comprised of highly-trained professional volunteers dedicated to providing search & rescue (SAR) services to law enforcement agencies in times of need.

 

TCSAR services are available to requesting law enforcement agencies on short notice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help with the location of missing persons.  TCSAR provides a mission-ready search and rescue unit deploying:

 

● Wilderness & Urban Live scenting K-9s

Human Remains detecting K-9s

● Ground Searchers trained in man-tracking and wilderness navigation

● Medical Professionals

● Search Management

These services are provided at no cost to the requesting agency.  TCSAR is a 100% volunteer organization of unpaid professionals with a strong sense of civic duty and responsibility.


Note:  Travis County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) can not respond to civilian requests for missing persons missions. If you are not a law enforcement or official government agency, you must contact your local law enforcement or call 911 to report all missing persons. TCSAR will respond to your local law enforcements official request.

TCSAR K-9 Unit trains HR Dogs On Water - Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Members of the Travis County Search and Rescue K-9 Unit were on the lake training for victim recovery after drownings. TCSAR responds to Law Enforcement requests for this activity especially in the summer months.
